On an elimination diet where I can't eat soy, but was told this was okay. I really miss soy sauce and was hoping this would be a good fix. It is not. It does not taste like soy sauce at all. HOWEVER, it is very delicious. It is sweet and tastes similar to sweet soy sauce, although it is a more liquid texture and cannot replace that in a recipe either. This is pretty tasty and I was happy to have it in my rice bowl. So it is not a swap out, as it does not taste like soy sauce, but it was really nice tasting anyway and probably the best I will do if I can't have soy. If you can be happy with a completely different flavor this can work for you.

As a breast cancer survivor who eats paleo, I've given up soy. I wasn't sure if this would measure up for my version of "fried rice" (ie: cauliflower). Turns out this is better than anything I've used. While it has a similar flavour to soy sauce, it is not as sharp, nor as salty. It's sweeter and has a lot more body. Better consistency. It's also low calorie. I'm so glad I found an alternative to soy sauce/tamari sauce. Excellent and will definitely use and order this product again. It's now a staple in my kitchen.

I had no expectations when I ordered this product to try, but was just trying to stick to my eating style. It's a pleasant surprise, exquisite taste.

Absolutely Delicious. The best alternative to soy sauce. Now I can cook my favorite dishes without the sodium that I am not allowed to have. I have high blood pressure, kidney issues and retention issues with my fibromyalgia. This sauce saved the day. It truly tastes HEAVENLY. Thank you for making this product available.

I love this stuff. It has a great flavor that's versatile for a lot of dishes whether it be in place of soy sauce for sushi, sauces or used in dressings. My favorite things to do with it are to make teriyaki, Thai peanut sauce or sauté it with stir fry. I personally think the flavor profile beats soy sauce and the added mineral content and lower sodium are just a bonus. The only negative is that for the price, the jar is quite small. However, the price point for the size is comparable to that of other brands.

This product has a good taste, not a great taste. I probably shouldn't judge it so hard because although marketed as "coconut soy sauce" my brain and my mouth were expecting soy sauce which it is not. I'm still getting used to the word "alternative" in terms of food and how far "alternative" is from the actual thing or which it is replacing. Overall it has a decent flavor BUT it is unbearably sweet! As concocted this is more like a Teriyaki sauce and am certain this will taste great on beef, fish or pork when they are grilled. In anything else or when not grilling this is more like a "soy dessert sauce". This needs a lot less sugar and a whole lot more salt. "A" for effort however.

We like the product. It does not pack the flavor profile of traditional soy sauce and so when trying to get that boost of flavor, I wound up using a LOT of the coconut aminos as I had added other flavors to the recipe before incorporating the aminos. Lesson learned. I need to add flavors together more gradually to add balance and expect a milder flavor. Cabbage can overpower the aminos a bit (in making unwrapped egg rolls). We love our Asian foods, but I am allergic to soy, so I just need to keep practicing my flavor combinations to get the right balance. It has a good flavor, just different - milder.

I love the product. Its a little salty but full of soy free flavor. Great replacement for dishes that require soy sauce when you don't want the soy. Also works on dishes that require Teriyaki, just add pineapple juice and/or ginger to taste! The only difficulty I have had with this product is ordering it from Amazon. The shipment always came in with a leak. The sellers were great in that they replaced it several times but unfortunately every attempt had the same issue. The bottle just can't keep the liquid well enough for the trip! So, I went to the local store and bought it!

New to the whole AIP paleo thing. This is recommended everywhere, so I bought it. I use a lot of coconut products already, but I get tired of everything tasting like coconut after a short while. Also not a fan of soy sauce, or the often unpleasant substitutes. If you're like me, don't fret. Yes, there is a mild coconut taste, but there is also a very strong umami element (without the overload of salt assault), which pleasantly exalts whatever I use it on. This will be a permanent, happy staple in my kitchen from now on. Very versatile!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Alternative to Soy Sauce - Perfect for Paleo Diet

Having recently started on a paleo diet, I was keen to find a replacement for Soy Sauce. Many paleo recipes call for Coconut Aminos so I thought I would give this a try.
The flavour is similar to soy sauce but sweeter. It gives a great flavour to your food and whilst not tasting exactly like soy, is a pretty good substitute. You can use it in your cooking or as a dipping sauce.I've looked at other brands of Coconut Aminos but found they contained ingredients that didn't fit within the paleo diet.
I'm on my second bottle of Coconut Secret Aminos and will continue to purchase it.

There are seriously NO better soy sauce alternatives than Coconut Secret Coconut Aminos. I could drink this stuff out of the bottle. As I follow a grain/gluten/sugar free lifestyle, to have a lovely sauce over my stirfry is a treasure, but even if I wasn't involved with dietary restrictions I would use this product. It's that good.

Does not taste just like standard soy sauce on its Own. I can taste the underlying coconut sugar. It is however the best soy alternative (soya free) I have found and I'm sure will taste good as an ingredient. For a sushi dipping sauce I may mix it with some other ingredients to make it more suitable.

It was nice to have this option with no nastiness and organic. I am not familiar with this ingredient so cannot compare to others of it's kind but it seems good quality and definitely will be used.

5.0 out of 5 stars The price makes you cringe but...

If you have a soy intolerance this stuff is essential. With the impressive amino acid profile it also appears quite healthy with much less sodium than soy sauce

The taste is very pleasant, can't complain really. I like to mix salmon with this and cider vinegar for breakfast or lunch. It also combines well with fish sauce, which before this I was totally dependent on as a soy alternative

Definitely worth having, just unfortunate it is overpriced
